What is CIMAT?

The Center for Research in Mathematics A.C. is a Public Research Center, Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACyT). It was founded in the city of Guanajuato in 1980 with the aim of fostering research, study, development and dissemination of mathematics and its applications in various areas of scientific and technological development.

Strategically, in CIMAT we are committed to three fundamental objectives:

• Generating scientific knowledge through research in the areas of specialty center.
• Train human resources for excellence in the specialty areas of the Center, undergraduate and graduate students.
• Strengthen the relationship with the public, private and social sectors through the development of applied research projects, the supply of technology services and consulting, the provision of training and the dissemination and disclosure of mathematics.

CIMAT has sites in the cities of Aguascalientes, Zacatecas and Monterrey where he has sought to develop strong software industry, increasing competitiveness and economic growth of companies and meet the conditions of demand for skilled labor.
